STANTON’S CREATE A RUG TOOL

Are you tired of shopping for that perfect area rug? You know, that one that is an odd size or shape? Or one that has to have that certain look & feel or the perfect shade in it? I have found a solution for you, Stanton’s Create a Rug. It is user-friendly and allows you to design the perfect area rug.

1. SELECT CARPET & COLOR

I would recommend going through their residential products and making a note of all the style names and colors you think might work for you. Once you decide on a style enter it in the box and the colors will automatically come up as seen in Img. 1, choose the color. Then you will see the style and color you chose in the custom rug visualizer box as indicated in Img. 2.

2. SELECT FINISH

This involves choosing how you want the borders/edges on your rug. The options include:

Standard Tape Binding – synthetic or cotton tape sewn around the edge of the rug and shows approximately 1/4″ on face.
Hand serging – the serging of the rug is completed by hand. Normally hand serging shows less of the yarn on the face of the rug.
Machine serging – consists of an edge that forms a continuous wrap of yarn around the edges of the rug.
Modern edge – a low-profile serged edge with a sleek look. This is a great alternative to hand serging.
Binding options – are fabrics of various widths, compositions and patterns that frame the perimeter of the rug.

For all of the above finishing choices, you get to choose whether to:

match to the prominent background color,
match to the prominent accent color or
match it to any other color

Stanton’s Create A Rug tool offers visual references as reflected in Img. 3, so you understand better what these options look like.

The two bottom options represent binding options:

Mitered Corner Top Stitch – This sample shows a mitered corner. The corners are fabricated to resemble the corner of a picture frame with a top (visible) stitch.
Folded Corner Top Stitch – This sample shows a folded corner. These corners are also known as lapped corners. The finishing material is folded over at the corners with a top (visible) stitch.

3. ENTER RUG QUANTITY & SIZE

* Please note as you can see in Img. 4 that if the rug you are wanting is a different shape other than square or rectangle you will have to contact the Customer Service Team.

4. ATTACHED BACKING/ PADDING OPTIONS

You have 4 backing/padding choices:

Non-skid padding – provides increased comfort underfoot, hides any fabrication on the back of the rug, protects a wood floor from abrasion, extends the life and stability of the rug and also serves the purpose of keeping the rug in place (indoor use only).
Felt backing – provides increased comfort underfoot, hides any fabrication on the back of the rug, and protects a wood floor from abrasion (indoor use only).
Outdoor friendly – cushion provides increased comfort underfoot, hides any fabrication on the back of the rug, and extends the life and stability of the rug.
No attached backing

After deciding on the backing you want, it will give you a box to add any special instructions or comments you might want to add as shown in Img. 5. Then, you must save the area rug you have created. Once you save your rug, you’re taken to a summary page where you can print the page or email yourself the information. You are now ready to take your creation to the next level by forwarding or sharing a copy of your Rug Quote with your flooring retailer.
